How decisions get made here, and what commercial relationships can and cannot touch.

Independence
BrewRanked earns money from affiliate commissions. That is a real commercial interest and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we can describe is the specific separation we maintain:
- Scoring rubrics are fixed and published before products are scored against them.
- Commission rate is not an input to any score, and is not considered when deciding what to cover.
- Products with no affiliate program available are included and ranked on the same basis as products that pay. Where a highly rated product is difficult to buy through an affiliate link, we say so on the page and rank it anyway.
- No manufacturer, retailer or affiliate network reviews a page before publication, and none has any right of approval over our conclusions.
- We do not sell placement. There are no sponsored slots, paid inclusions, or "featured partner" positions anywhere on this site. If that ever changes, such placements will be labelled unmistakably and excluded from rankings.
Accuracy
We state what we can verify and omit what we cannot. Specifications come from manufacturer documentation rather than retailer listings. Where a claim rests on documented design rather than direct experience, the page says so — see how we test.
We do not use generative AI to produce opinions, experiences or test results. Where AI tools assist with research or drafting, a human is responsible for every factual claim that survives into a published page.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct the page and add a dated note at the foot of it describing what changed. We do not silently edit. Significant corrections — anything that changes a recommendation — are noted at the top of the page for at least thirty days.
To report an error, email [email protected] with the page URL and what is wrong. We aim to respond within five business days.
Updates
Rankings are reviewed when a product is revised or discontinued, when a cited specification changes, and before each Q4 season at minimum. The date at the top of a page reflects the last time its content was verified.
Sources and attribution
Where we rely on a specific external source for a factual claim, we link to it. We do not reproduce other publications' text, images or testing data, and we do not present aggregated third-party ratings as our own assessment.
